The Things We Do For A Crust

Image
Copies of "The Things We Do For A Crust"  available @ £7.50. {including post & packing.} This little book started life as a "self-help leaflet" for would-be carers looking to work through care Agencies. After two lines of writing, the author Melanie White { alter-ego Ruth Whitney} realised there was - and still is - no-where to go! The "where to go?" relates to possible proper employment and support for Carers working on 24hr 7x days a week placements via Care Agencies. At the same time Melanie set-up a one-woman campaign for the monitoring and accreditation of Carers and their Agencies. The result being "brick-walls!" This little 'tongue-in-cheek" look at caring is also a platform for a play of the book. Thanks to Steve Waller Mel's lyrics are now recorded. Here's a sample to get yer juices going! Tracks include "Qualified" available to listen to on the link below. If it hadn't

Steve Waller/Melanie White

Steve Waller....often called "White-man Waller" came to Stroud where he did some of his best work. Never to be forgotten. For "friends Musicians and countrymen" or anyone interested in my story e-mail Mel on whitneymelanie@outlook.com For The Inside Story read-on........ These lyrics were written on 24.08.2003 for a song, and if there is anyone out there musically inclined?!  - and brave enough to work with me - don't hesitate to get in touch with me by e-mail whitneymelanie@outlook.com for a potential collaboration for a recording of "Rollercoaster World" I was sitting in a pool of elation - I was drowning in the waters of love While hanging on the wires of expectation I thought you were there  Could still feel all your fears running wild with the lions in the park And although you're not here anymore I remember you standing in the door Though not here for me to touch I still love and want you so

NEEDED! An Imaginative LITERARY AGENT for an already Published and Marketable little book - also a short story, recorded on C.D. "The Beer Slug-Trap" is ideally written for six-year olds; a fairy-story with a moral! Originally written with/for a semi-animated film and full of potential. {The B.B.C. Radio Gloucester interviewed Melanie shortly after recording her story.} Melanie White {Mel} lives, {by pure accident!} in Stroud Gloucestershire. You may often witness her on a Saturday, rummaging the Farmers market for potatoes and carrots! {While avoiding a plethora of rain-coated dog-owners and 4x4 drivers.} Approachable and friendly, coming from the Midlands Mel, is easy to speak with. She is self-taught as a writer, also has many 'unfinished-symphonies' waiting in the wings. Recording to date include "The Arty-Farty Window Party" and four songs for a play of her book. The Cardboard Cut-Out

WANTED! An enthusiastic Theatre Company to produce a play by Ruth Whitney. The Cardboard Cut-Out was first produced as a THEATRE-PUB production in The Holy Inadequate Rock CafĂ©. Later Graeme Bill the Artistic Director of the Stroud Playhouse put the play forward for a Studio Production. Ruth Whitney - real name Melanie White first wrote and published "The Things We Do For A Crust" a 'tongue-in-cheek' look at caring; an ideal read for the first-time carer! This too could be produced with music for a theatre production. The book is for sale - a snip at £5 + P&P For anyone seriously interested in producing this "cheap'n'easy' to produce play. e-mail Melanie White at whitneymelanie@outlook.com
